Embark has been providing enrollment management solutions to university admissions offices for over 10 years.

Embark was founded in 1995 by Young Shin, who is currently with the Embark family as a board member. Known then as Snap Technologies, Embark was one of the first web-based college application providers. Our initial success was based on product innovation that offered colleges a fully web-based solution to their admission administration needs. By the end of 2000, Embark was recognized as a leading provider of web-based admissions systems to post-secondary institutions.

In 2001, Embark was acquired by The Princeton Review and became a business unit of their growing Admissions Services division. Under The Princeton Review, the Embark business gained profitability and expanded their product offerings.

In February 2007, Embark Corporation was re-created and with outside funding from Go to College Holdings, an investment company backed by MRU Holdings (NASDAQ: UNCL), acquired the Embark assets from The Princeton Review. Adam Park, who ran the Embark business at The Princeton Review, retained the senior management team along with 100% of Embark's employees.
